Artist: Katie Armiger
This week’s Bonus Track comes from up and coming country artist, Katie Armiger. The song was pulled from her sophomore album, Believe, and was an instant favorite of mine. In an age of social networking that has made shallow relationships more and more common, I believe almost anybody would be able to relate to “Unseen”.
The song focuses on a relationship between a boyfriend, a the girlfriend who feels a bit neglected in the way that he has only scratched the surface of who she is. “So much I wanted you to know/ The deepest part of me/ You never tried to reach/ It would have been so easy.”
Katie’s voice absolutely shines in this track, bringing to life all the raw emotion and hurt revealed through the lyrics. I find this song fascinating, simply because of the subject matter. As it is pointed out in the track, it really is a tragedy when people’s relationships lack depth because they don’t try to find out the things that make someone unique. ”This ain’t the life I want/ To be right by your side/ And have this great divide/ We were close but so far.”
Hope you all enjoy “Unseen” as much as I have!
